Do I Need My ID To Vote In Pennsylvania? What PA Voters Should Know Today

Most Pennsylvania voters do not need to show ID at the polls. The state generally relies on signature checks for voters who have cast ballots at their polling place before. First-time voters, and those voting at a new polling place for the first time, may be asked for identification. Accepted documents include a photo ID or a non-photo document such as a recent utility bill or bank statement showing your name and address. A voter registration card is not required. Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m., and as long as you are in line by 8 p.m., you are entitled to cast a ballot.
